AskJapanCars shows estimates to help you plan — not firm quotes. This page explains how to read them and how our licensed, no-deposit sourcing model works.
Figures are estimates
Auction grades, vehicle prices, duties, freight and landed-cost totals shown on the site and by the assistant are estimates, often carrying an 'as of' date. They move with the market, exchange rates and the specific car, and are confirmed individually before any bid is placed.
Licensed auction access
We hold genuine USS auction membership (Members Card L-1525) through AVON INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD., a Japan-registered company. Bids are placed by a licensed dealer — we are not reselling a third party's feed.
No deposit, you approve first
There is no upfront deposit to explore the site or use the assistant. A licensed dealer only bids on a specific car after you approve it. Any small refundable fee is requested by a human, later, and only when relevant.
Import eligibility
Import rules — age limits, steering, inspections and duties — differ by country and change over time. We help you understand them, but you should confirm the current rules for your destination before importing.
